At TTG we know there are misconceptions about cruise, so we’ve teamed up with Fred Olsen Cruise Lines and three travel agents to film six myth-busting videos onboard Balmoral
It’s the cruise line that takes guests “closer” to destinations, and is known as the “friendliest fleet afloat”. So why are there so many misconceptions about cruising with Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines? TTG hopped onboard the flagship, Balmoral, with three top-selling cruise agents to help dispel these myths once and for all.
The group sailed from the Port of Tyne in Newcastle and travelled across the North Sea to the Norwegian fjords, where the agents – who had never before been on a Fred Olsen ocean cruise – enjoyed scenic cruising along Hardangerfjord and Eidfjord before disembarking in Bergen. Along the way, TTG captured their thoughts on camera, spanning accommodation, dining, onboard activities and entertainment, destinations and excursions, and the offerings for solo travellers and groups, then edited the footage into a series of seven myth-busting videos, which were launched with a Facebook Live on 30 September 2019.
The series is now available to watch below. Will your Fred Olsen myths be busted?

And here’s a final word from Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines...
“As with the cruise industry in general, we know there are many preconceptions about our brand. This was a great opportunity for agents to experience just what cruising with us is all about. Whilst we would love to be able to welcome each and every one of you onboard, we have created these videos to help those of you who have not yet been able to join us to understand just who we are, what we do, and why I am so proud to be a part of Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines.”
