G Adventures has added a fifth yacht to its fleet of chartered vessels sailing the Galapagos Islands.
From January 2019, the 16-passenger Eden yacht will join G Adventures’ four other touring vessels in hosting small group, sea-based trips around the 20 major and smaller Galapagos islands.
Eden will offer three upper deck, twin-share cabins with bunk beds, one main deck double bed cabin, and four lower deck twin-share cabins. The ship also has a scenic, two-level, wraparound deck with outdoor lounge area and sundeck. Eden will carry nine crewmembers, including a chef and expert naturalist.
Built in 1996 and refurbished in 2012, G Adventures plans to move Eden into dry dock this autumn for further upgrades and “G” branding.
Eden will sail six different itineraries around the North, Central, West, East, and Southern islands, ranging from seven to 17 days in length. The addition of the extra capacity follows a complete sell-out of departures in the 12 months to July.
Itineraries are available to book now and include a free one-way flight between either Quito and Lima or Lima and Quito when clients book a Peru and land or boat Galapagos tour.
“We are continuing to see increased demand from our travellers looking to experience the Galapagos Islands and the addition of the Eden marks an exciting development for us to be able to meet this demand,” said Brian Young, G Adventures’ managing director.
“The wildlife, natural beauty and our offer of complimentary flights between Lima and Quito makes the archipelago an attractive destination for travellers seeking a once-in-a-lifetime experience,” he added.
