Greek carrier Air Mediterranean has started operating from Stansted.
The airline will fly four services each week from London to Athens – its first scheduled route from the UK.
Fares begin from £135pp for a return flight to the Greek capital onboard the airline’s Boeing 737 aircraft, including allocated seating, a 23 kg baggage allowance and complimentary inflight meals.
Flight times from Stansted will enable onward connections via Athens to the Middle East and Africa.
Mats Sigurdson, aviation director at Stansted, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Air Mediterranean to Stansted as they launch their first UK services.
“This is great news and adds even more choice of airlines to the already extensive European network on offer at the airport.”
Air Mediterranean owner George Hallak added: “We are delighted to be launching our first scheduled services from Athens and expect the routes to be a remarkable success.”
