Holiday Extras has purchased the Purple Parking brand and website in a pre-packaged administration.
The ancillaries specialist said it agreed to buy Purple Parking’s online airport parking business after Purple failed to secure a buyer for the entire business.
Matthew Pack, Holiday Extras’ group chief executive, said: “Our acquisition of Purple Parking’s online assets is focused on providing continuity of service for Purple Parking’s customers, suppliers and distributors.
“The 36 existing Purple Parking booking agency staff will transfer immediately to Holiday Extras under Tupe regulations.”
Duff and Phelps has now been appointed as administrator for the other parts of Purple Parking’s business.
The pre-pack deal makes Holiday Extras’ responsible for new bookings made through Purple Parking’s website from November 3 onwards.
“We are also focused on ensuring that every customer that had an existing booking with Purple Parking has their parking arrangements honoured,” added Pack.
“We are in discussion with all car parks and are very pleased with the response so far.”
Purple Parking has more than 300,000 regular customers who use its website.
