Hugh Morgan will stand down from his role on the board of Broadway Travel after just shy of three years, it has been announced.
Managing director Adam Pardini revealed Morgan’s departure during his opening address at Broadway Travel’s annual conference in Dubrovnik on Monday (October 15).
Morgan was appointed to the Broadway board as non-executive chairman in December 2015 following a brief stint as executive chairman of Cosmos Tours and Cruises.
Before that, he was chairman of the Monarch Travel Group.
Morgan started his career at ILG in 1968 and boasts 50 years’ experience in travel.
Pardini said he was “very sad” to lose Morgan’s services to the board, describing working with him as being a “fantastic learning curve”.
“He’s a great guy,” said Pardini. “We wish him all the best.”
The conference is Broadway’s tenth and this year marks the business’s 70th anniversary.
The business was founded as a single travel agency on Broadway in Wimbledon in 1948.
It achieved annual sales in excess of £200 million for the first time in 2015 and underwent a significant rebranding exercise last year, also unveiled at its conference.
