Jet Airways’ international operation remained grounded on Monday (15 April), with the Indian carrier understood to be operating just seven aircraft domestically.
Talks between the airline and its lenders and investors continued over the weekend and into Monday morning to find a solution to Jet’s mounting debts, Sky News reports.
An airline spokesperson said some domestic flights were operating on Monday with international flights scheduled for Tuesday.
However, live flight data shows no Jet Airways aircraft in operation, although Reuters reports the airline’s pilots were told to defer their planned Monday strike pending the outcome of the talks between Jet and key lender State Bank of India.
The airline’s Manchester-Mumbai, Heathrow-Mumbai and Heathrow-Delhi services remain suspended. The CAA confirmed it was aware of the situation on Friday (12 April).
Jet is searching for a buyer for around 75% of the company. UAE-based Etihad Airways owns a 24% stake.
Its long-standing chairman Naresh Goyal resigned last month to pave the way for fresh talks over the airline’s future.
