Jet2 has extended its winter and spring flight programme to the Canary Islands from East Midlands airport.
Additional weekly flights to Gran Canaria and Tenerife will get under way next February, the airline has announced.
Jet2 said the extra flights came in response to “increased demand for winter sun and holidays earlier in the season”.
The airline will add additional weekly Friday services to Gran Canaria from 14 February through 17 April, growing its weekly Gran Canaria service during this period to four.
Additional Tuesday services to Tenerife, meanwhile, will operate from 11 February through 24 March, growing Jet2’s weekly Tenerife service during this period to six.
The additions complement Jet2’s four weekly services to Lanzarote and two to Fuerteventura operating from February through April, extending its weekly Canaries flight programme from East Midlands to 16 flights in total early next year.
Steve Heapy, chief executive of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, said the carrier had “responded quickly” to extra demand for flights and holidays to Gran Canaria and Tenerife.
“Thanks to this latest expansion at East Midlands airport, holidaymakers now have even more choice and flexibility when it comes to winter sun and holidays outside of the main summer season, including during the February school holidays and Easter.”
