Jet2.com and Jet2holidays is reducing its Jersey programme this summer following a routine review of its schedule, a move that will see it axe its Manchester-Jersey route.
The airline and operator will end Manchester-Jersey services on 28 June, while its twice-weekly Stansted-Jersey and Birmingham-Jersey services will go down to weekly.
It will continue to operate its Leeds Bradford-Jersey route three times a week, Newcastle-Jersey once a week and East Midlands-Jersey once a week.
A Jet2.com and Jet2holidays spokesperson stressed the decision was unrelated to the widely reported staff shortages currently affecting the aviation sector.
“As a successful business that is quick to respond to demand, we continually review our flying programme and will make adjustments where required," said the Jet2 spokesperson. "This gives us the ability to add flights and holidays in response to demand, and very occasionally we may withdraw flights too.
"Following this latest review, we have taken the decision to withdraw some services to Jersey from Birmingham, Stansted and Manchester airports. Where customers are affected, we will contact them to let them know, and they will receive a full refund."
The spokesperson added: "It is important to note that this decision has nothing to do with staff shortages that are currently impacting other airlines, and withdrawn flights were not due to depart until 30 June at the earliest.
"We have not made any cancellations due to staff shortages. We took action to recruit well ahead of the bounce back, and as such we have a very visible uniformed presence in our UK airports, as well as in our main overseas airports and in resorts."
