Corneel Koster is to rejoin Virgin Atlantic as the airline’s new executive vice-president, customer.
Koster currently works for Virgin’s joint venture partner and minority shareholder Delta Air Lines as senior vice-president – Europe, Middle East, Africa and India.
When he starts his new role in August, Koster will have responsibility for Virgin’s customer, product and service strategy, including airports, cabin crew, contact centres, clubhouses and inflight services.
Koster previously worked for Virgin Atlantic between 2010 and 2013 when he was director of operations, safety and security.
“I’m delighted to be returning to Virgin Atlantic and to join at such an exciting time as we introduce our first-ever A350, begin shaping the customer experience on our A330neos and introduce a hat-trick of new routes from Heathrow,” said Koster.
Virgin is due to get its first three Airbus A350s this summer, which will feature new redesigned cabins, including the introduction of The Loft for Upper Class passengers.
Shai Weiss, Virgin Atlantic’s chief executive, added: “I’m thrilled to welcome Corneel back to the leadership team at Virgin Atlantic. He brings a wealth of experience with him, both working with our partners and in delivering award-winning, world-class customer experience for passengers.
“His new role will allow him to strengthen these important relationships as part of our transatlantic expanded joint venture with Delta and Air France-KLM, taking the partnership to new heights.”
