Ask any of the most senior leaders in travel to what they attribute their career success, and they’re likely to agree on one thing: that there was a person who gave them the inspiration, the support or the opportunity they needed to help them achieve their potential and ambitions.
It’s in this spirit that we’re proud to announce the return of TTG’s popular Tomorrow’s Travel Leaders programme – our annual search for the travel industry’s most impressive young achievers, providing them with the chance to be inspired by the travel leaders of today, and to share ideas and collaborate with like-minded young professionals.
We bring you this year’s 30 Under 30 initiative thanks to the support of three new partners: Attraction World, Virgin Holidays and World Travel Market London, who have all benefited from having some of their own colleagues be part of the scheme in previous years.
It’s thanks too to these partners that we can announce the third annual Tomorrow’s Travel Leaders Conference – open to anyone interested in developing their business and leadership skills – which will return on November 25. Since the programme’s inception in 2012, it’s been a privilege to watch our alumni grow their careers.
Do look within your own organisation and encourage young colleagues who are on a path to great things to come forward; I can’t wait to see what this year holds.
Get gunging for charity
For four senior travel industry figures, however, the near future could hold something very unpleasant. With the TTG Travel Awards less than two weeks away, we’re excited to announced The Gunger Games: a contest that will see four industry personalities fight to the death – or to the gunge, at least – in aid of Abta LifeLine.
We’re inviting the industry to decide which of our contestants most deserves to be splattered with goo, by making a donation to the victim of their choice.
Find out how to play in this week’s mag. And to our valiant contestants: may the odds be ever in your favour!
