Virgin Voyages will host its largest ever UK event next month – a party for 600 agents featuring a performance by DJ Mark Ronson.
The line’s UK sales team, led by Shane Riley, will also embark on its first agent roadshow with sessions in seven major cities across the country aiming to meet with an estimated 500 trade partners.
Speaking to TTG, Riley said Virgin Voyages would be bringing its Scarlet Night bash to London on 21 May, telling guests to expect “the night of their lives and plenty of surprises”.
The first invite-only event was first held in New York on 14 February to celebrate the line going on sale and featured a number of celebrity guests, including Virgin Group founder Richard Branson.
“We had such amazing feedback from the British agents we flew out there – and based on the response from trade to the brand here since we launched, we thought ‘we just have to do this again in the UK’,” Riley said.
Ahead of Scarlet Night, Riley and his recently installed UK sales team, consisting of sales managers Gemma Smith and Sarah-Jane Walker, will visit seven cities across England, Wales and Scotland for trade training.
The events, taking place from the first week of May, will be split into two parts said Riley, with product training in the day following by “a more relaxed and social approach” in the evening
The team will bring virtual reality headsets for agents to experience life onboard.
Virgin Voyages will look to meet with a large number of agents who had registered on its trade platform, Firstmates.com, as well as those new to the brand.
