Low-cost carrier Norse Atlantic Airways has flown its first flight from Oslo to New York’s JFK ahead of its UK transatlantic launch later this summer.
The service, operated by a Boeing 787 Dreamliner, departed on Tuesday (14 June) and will ramp up to daily flights from 4 July.
Later this week on Saturday (18 June), Norse will commence three-weekly flights from the Norwegian capital to Fort Lauderdale and its Oslo-Orlando route will also offer three-weekly services from 5 July.
Flights from Oslo to Los Angeles will start on 9 August, ahead of Norse’s long-awaited London-New York service on 12 August.
Return fares will be offered from £255, including taxes but not baggage. Its daily direct service, departing Gatwick, will be operated by a 787 Dreamliner.
Flights will depart Gatwick at 1pm, arriving New York JFK at 3.55pm. Returns will depart New York at 5.55pm, arriving Gatwick at 6.20am (+1)
Norse offers two cabin choices, economy and premium, with passengers able to choose from Light, Classic and Plus fare and baggage options.
