On the Beach has unveiled more details of its new high-tech “digital HQ” in Manchester, due to open in November.
The OTA will relocate the majority of its business operations to the new premises in the autumn, a move the business hopes will help it retain and attract digitally talented staff with a view to “almost doubling” its digital team over the next five years.
Its new multi-million pound base will feature a music room, 250-seater auditorium and theatre, library, games room and beach bar, as well as beach furnishings including hammocks, swing seats and Palapa-shaded tables.
The move will allow the business to expand its digital team from around 200 to more than 350 by 2023, taking its entire workforce to more than 500.
Key focuses will be development, design and marketing, plus product and business analysis.
Its contact centre, meanwhile, will remain at Park Square, but will undergo a major refurbishment due for competition in early 2019.
Simon Cooper, On the Beach chief executive, said: “On the Beach is one of the leading technology businesses in the north and the move to Manchester’s city centre – in close proximity to Piccadilly station - will no doubt allow us to better leverage this position in terms of attracting and retaining the very best talent in the region and beyond.
“The new space and its state-of-the-art facilities have been designed specifically for our employees and shaped by their feedback and will allow us to become more collaborative, increasing our ability to innovate. We look forward to being at the heart of the Manchester digital business hub.”
