More than 40,000 people and counting have signed a petition entitled “Save Thomas Cook”.
The Change.org petition, which is seeking 50,000 signatures, reads: “The iconic travel firm, the oldest travel firm, Thomas Cook has made dream holidays for us all and we have made so many memories, had work experiences and met so many great people that had effect in our lives.
“One of the well known British brands.
“If the government or any other lenders help to fund shortfall of money then the future will be bright.
“Save Thomas Cook!”
It is understood Cook is meeting with its biggest shareholder and creditors this morning (Sunday, 22 September) after it was told by its lenders to raise an additional £200 million necessary to secure a rescue deal.
Meanwhile, many in the travel industry have taken to social media this weekend to express their support for colleagues at the iconic travel company.
