Princess Cruises has announced that it will name its next ship Sky Princess.
The 3,660-capacity ship, which will launch in October 2019, will be a sister vessel to Royal Princess, Regal Princess and Majestic Princess
Sky Princess will include the same signature elements as other Royal-class ships such as a three-deck atrium, outdoor cinema, adults-only Sanctuary and a range of restaurants, entertainment venues and shops.
The ship will begin service offering a range of Mediterranean itineraries from Barcelona, Rome or Athens, before sailing across the Atlantic from Barcelona to Fort Lauderdale on a 14-day cruise.
Jan Swartz, Princess Cruises’s group president, said: “Sky Princess continues a Princess Cruises legacy and honours one of our previous ships.
“When Princess merged with Sitmar Cruises in 1988, Sky Princess joined our fleet and sailed with us for 12 years. Now more than 30 years later, a new Sky Princess will join the fleet featuring our modern design platform and contemporary innovations, offered to exceed our guests’ expectations.”
Sky Princess’ Med itineraries will be available to book from December 14, although customers with Elite status can make their reservations on December 13.
The Carnival-owned line will add a fifth Royal class ship in 2020.
