Princess Cruises’ UK boss has reiterated the line’s commitment to delivering the “best connected Wi-Fi at sea”.
Tony Roberts, vice-president UK and Europe, told delegates that a new service called MedallionNet would see Wi-Fi on Carnival Corporation ships with “exceptional” speeds, which will be “pervasive” throughout the ships.
Roberts said: “We are working with satellite companies to establish a new network of coverage that gives more reliability. It will give us the best connection and most pervasive service of Wi-Fi at sea.”
Princess will be the first in the company to feature “Medallion class” ships – the main features of which will be a wearable medallion that facilitates a personalised service onboard – before it is ultimately rolled out across all of Carnival’s brands.
And there are just two weeks left until Ocean Medallion goes live, debuting on Regal Princess on November 13. It will subsequently be introduced on to Royal Princess on January 19 and Caribbean Princess on March 18.
