Qatar Airways has unveiled a new private jet for its executive division offering “unparalleled passenger comfort”.
The Gulfstream G500 will join the Qatar Executive fleet by the end of the year and is capable of flying non-stop from Istanbul to Cape Town, Los Angeles to London and San Francisco to Tokyo.
The carrier revealed plans to introduce the aircraft on the opening day of Farnborough International Airshow yesterday (July 16).
Qatar Airways said its cabin would “set new industry benchmarks as one of the quietest in the industry, as well as having the best cabin altitude pressure, allowing for unparalleled passenger comfort.”
Qatar Executive currently operates a fleet of 13 Gulfstream and Bombardier private jets, including five Gulfstream G650ERs, three Bombardier Challenger 605s, four Global 5000s and one Global XRS aircraft.
The division is expected to receive eight of 25 additional new aircraft it has on order between now and the end of 2019 as it continues to increase its global reach to new destinations.
Akbar Al Baker, Qatar Airways group chief executive, said: “With its many advanced features, this ultra-modern aircraft will enable us to offer our global clientele unprecedented levels of service.
“The G500 also demonstrates our commitment to continuing to expand the Qatar Executive fleet, in line with our accelerated growth strategy, enabling us to exceed our clients’ expectations time and time again.”
