The Where Extraordinary Happens promotion will showcase the experiences offered on a Royal Caribbean holiday, and will be rolled out across radio, video on demand, digital and social media.
It will launch in the UK on December 26, running across all major UK stations and their digital subsidiaries, as well as Irish networks until the first week of February 2017.
The line said the advert “captures the true-to-life moments and destinations of a Royal Caribbean holiday, challenging perceptions that cruising is ‘one size fits all’”.
It was directed by Nez Khammal who has worked on music videos for Rudimental and Disclosure.
Royal Caribbean attributed the concept for the advert to the results of a survey, in which it quizzed 800 consumers – both past guests and new-to-cruise customers – who said the opportunity to visit multiple destinations was the biggest incentive to book a cruise.
The unveiling of the campaign comes as Royal Caribbean announced what it claims is the UK’s first children’s holiday brochure, in partnership with Thomas Cook.
The line said the co-branded programme, entitled Royal Adventurers, had been designed to educate children about cruise holidays, with features and games included within it.
It is exclusively available in Thomas Cook stores.
Elsewhere the line promised its wave promotion would be its “strongest yet”, with a raft of promotions on new bookings made from Wednesday December 21 until March 6 on selected sailings.
Offers include a “buy one all- inclusive cruise fare, get one half price”; 50% off children’s cruise fares; all-inclusive drinks offers and a reduced deposit of £25 on bookings made in the designated period and at least 57 days before departure.
Ben Bouldin, new managing director, Royal Caribbean International, UK and Ireland, said: “This is our strongest wave offer yet and I believe we’re going to achieve record sales during the period of this campaign. Given the strength of this family offer, it felt only natural to work with a valued partner such as Thomas Cook to produce the UK’s first ever cruise brochure for kids.”
