Royal Caribbean International is offering a travel agent the chance to become an “Instagram apprentice” and earn the equivalent of a £100,000 salary travelling onboard.
Those looking to bag the new "Shore Explorer" position will need to share their best travel story with the line using the social media platform.
The successful candidate will be tasked with documenting their three-week trip on Instagram using images and video. They will receive £2,000 per week upon completion of their trip, equivalent to an annual salary of £104,000.
Royal Caribbean said their journey would influence the development of its shore excursion programme and the job had been created following the success of its ‘Intern-ship of the Seas’ programme two years ago.
This time around, the candidate will act as apprentice to Royal Caribbean’s Instagrammer-in-chief, Russ Francis, who was appointed following his application to the 2016 programme and spent last year covering Symphony of the Seas.
The new apprentice will be one of the first to visit the line’s soon-to-launch private island resort in the Caribbean, Perfect Day at CocoCay, set to open in May.
To apply, applicants need to share their favourite travel experience in a picture or video on Instagram, Instagram Stories or Instagram TV tagging #ShoreExplorer and @RoyalCaribbeanUK.
All entrants must be 21 years or over, hold a valid passport and be able to travel this year.
The successful candidate will be selected by a panel of judges comprising The Vamps’ guitarist and I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! contestant James McVey; Ben Bouldin, managing director Royal Caribbean International UK & Ireland travel; writer Nadia El Ferdaoussi and Russ Francis.
Bouldin said: “We’re excited to invite our trade agents, as well as the general public, to apply for this once-in-a-lifetime position.
“Our agents work so hard to promote our incredible on-land experiences that guests can enjoy as part of our cruise holidays, so it’s fantastic we are able to offer them the opportunity to help influence and curate our shore excursion programme for 2019 and beyond.
“It’s another chance for them, and our guests, to take the Royal Caribbean experience to the next level.”
