Royal Caribbean is to station its first Quantum Ultra-class ship in Asia-Pacific from 2019.
The yet to be named vessel will be launched in spring 2019. It will be the next generation of the Quantum class vessel and join sister ships Quantum of the Seas, which will sail from Shanghai for the fourth consecutive season; and Ovation of the Seas, which will operate from Tianjin for a second time.
The positioning of the third vessel in the region comes after almost a decade after Royal Caribbean’s first cruise in China. The new ship will be specially designed for guests in the region, underlining the brand’s commitment to the Asia Pacific market.
Among other changes for 2018-19, Mariner of the Seas will reposition to Miami and offer three long sailings from Singapore to Dubai, Dubai to Barcelona and Barcelona to Miami. Voyager of the Seas will have her first full season in Singapore in 2018, offering three to seven-night itineraries in Southeast Asia, including Thailand and Malaysia.
The new 2018-19 deployment also features 10-night itineraries between Auckland, and Melbourne or Sydney on Radiance of the Seas. During the winter, Ovation of the Seas will reposition to Sydney for her longest season in Australia, reclaiming the title as the largest ship based in the region.
Voyages from China and Singapore are on sale now. Australia and South Pacific itineraries are bookable from May 16.
