Jo Vaughton, Royal Caribbean International’s head of PR and social, has moved across to Celebrity Cruises in the newly created role of director of brand marketing and PR.
She will take up her new position on October 15 and be tasked with overseeing all aspects of brand marketing – including events, social, trade and consumer PR, insights and content creation.
Vaughton, who has spent three years at Royal, moves over to its sister line ahead of the launch of Celebrity’s newest vessel, Celebrity Edge, in December.
A replacement for head of PR at Royal will be announced in due course.
During her time with the line she has overseen the launch communications for four of its ships, including Symphony of the Seas – the world’s largest cruise ship.
She will also continue to oversee UK and EMEA corporate announcements across the Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd group.
Jo Rzymowska, vice-president and managing director UK, Ireland and Asia at Celebrity Cruises, said: “We’re delighted that Jo is joining the Celebrity Cruises family.
She brings with her buckets of experience and a real creative flair that will make all the difference as we approach big brand moments like the launch of Celebrity Edge. We can’t wait to see what she has in store for us.”
Ben Bouldin, associate vice-president and managing director UK & Ireland for Royal Caribbean International added: “Jo’s dedication to authentic storytelling has seen extraordinary things happen onboard our ships…we wish her all the best in her new role over at our sister brand Celebrity Cruises.”
Prior to working for Royal Caribbean International, Vaughton was global brand communications director for InterContinental Hotels Group.
Before that, she spent 16 years agency side developing campaigns for companies such as American Express, Microsoft, Disney, Coca-Cola, McDonald’s, Lego and Innocent.
