Royal Caribbean’s trade lead in the north has been appointed head of UK trade sales at The Travel Corporation.
Vicky Billing will assume the role on 18 November. She will be responsible for the firm’s four guided holiday brands – Trafalgar, Insight Vacations, Costsaver and Luxury Gold.
Billing will report to director of sales and business development UK and Ireland Rachel Coffey. Her appointment grows TTC’s regional and office-based sales team to eight.
She will be responsible for developing and delivering TTC’s UK sales growth plan for the four brands, maintain trade partnerships and building new ones, and leading on training and development of the UK sales team.
Billing started her career with Thomas Cook before joining MSC Cruises and later moving on to Royal Caribbean in 2013. Last year, she was appointed head of retail north with responsibility for the line’s trade relations in the north of England.
“I’m really excited to be able to grow our UK sales team and to welcome Vicky to her new role, as the UK travel trade is critical to our business,” said Coffey.
“I was really impressed with Vicky’s vision, strategic and business acumen and her talent for developing a team through structure, training and mentoring. I have no doubt she is going to drive growth for our core brands. She has a proven track record, excellent trade relationships, and a go-getting attitude and energy to match mine.”
Billing added she was motivated to quit the cruise sector after seven “fantastic” years by TTC’s approach to sustainability and commitment to its clients.
