The highly respected travel industry accountant and TTG columnist Andrew Burnham has passed away following a battle with leukaemia.
Andrew was a partner at leading business advisor and accountancy practice MacIntyre Hudson, a company he had worked at for 25 years.
He was also a member of the Institute of Travel and Tourism, a TTG contributor and a widely respected figure in travel.
He was also a former member of the TTG Media advisory board.
Daniel Pearce, TTG Media managing director, said: “Andrew was a real friend of TTG over the years, and was extremely supportive of me personally when I set up the TTG Media business in 2013.
“Andrew was very well liked across the industry, and will be particularly remembered for the charity cricket match he instigated with White Hart Associates, as well as for his very jolly demeanour.”
Chris Photi, head of travel and leisure at White Hart Associates, said: “I am devastated at the loss of my friend Andrew. He was a wonderful fellow professional and always fun to be with socially. The travel industry has lost a trusted advisor. A truly delightful man.”
Friend and industry colleague Chris Lee, director, head of travel and professional sports at Barclays Corporate Banking, said: "I was fortunate to enjoy a 10-year business relationship and friendship with Andrew.
“He was both very professional and great fun to be with and I will miss him greatly. His passing at such a young age is desperately sad, and he will be much missed and long remembered".
Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date.
