TTG LGBT is returning with a dedicated online seminar, focused on educating the trade on how to sell travel to an LGBT+ audience.
Taking place on the afternoon of 9 June the Selling travel to an LGBT+ audience seminar, sponsored by South African Tourism, will be free to attend and will centre on addressing key concerns around LGBT+ travel, busting myths and misconceptions and celebrating the destinations actively working to appeal to the LGBT+ market.
The afternoon will begin at 2pm with a welcome by Sherwin Arends, trade relations officer, South African Tourism.
It will then move onto a session “Dispelling the myths of the LGBT+ traveller”, with expert representatives from the LGBT+ community discussing who the LGBT+ traveller is in 2022 and how the travel industry can create an accepting and inclusive environment to support them.
This will be followed by a “destination showcase”, featuring representatives from Malta, Tampa Bay and South Africa who will reveal how and why they are targeting the LGBT+ market and offer top tips for the best cities and resorts to send LGBT+ customers.
After a short break, the seminar will conclude with key advice on selling an LGBT+ holiday, showcasing companies who are successfully targeting the LGBT+ market with tips on imagery and language, as well as how to ensure guests enjoy a fully inclusive holiday once in resort. Speakers will include David McDonald, founder of LGBT+ specialist Chillimix and Darren Burn, founder of gay travel agency Outofoffice.com
