Flybe, Lufthansa and Justfly have been voted among Skyscanner’s top 10 most trusted airlines and OTAs, according to the planning and booking experience they offer.
The air fare aggregator has published the results of its first Traveller Trust Awards, which focuses on travellers’ experiences up to the moment they board their aircraft.
Its top 10 is based on feedback from Skyscanner customers over the 12 months from August 2017 through July 2018.
Customers were asked to comment on customer service, ease of booking, ease of website use, price accuracy and clarity of optional extras and their cost.
These comments were combined with feedback from Skyscanner’s own customer service team over the same period to produce the top 10. The ratings do not include any information or details of any travellers’ experience after boarding or of any specific airlines.
The top 10, in alphabetical order, runs American Airlines, Condor, Delta, Eurowings, Flybe, Justfly, Lufthansa, Skyticket, Transavia and Ucuzabilet.
Hugh Aitken, Skyscanner senior director of strategic partnerships, said: “These days, travellers aren’t just looking for transparency in pricing, they are increasingly making choices based on the quality of the booking site and after sales customer service.
“We are excited to be announcing the winners of our first ever Traveller Trust Awards and send out a clear message to the industry about the importance of the customer booking experience being key to increasing customer satisfaction and improved sales.”
Skyscanner has created a dedicated portal to allow its partners to understand their performance.
It has also pledged to expand the awards next year to include more travel options.
