The Global Travel Group has launched a new network for women, alongside a pledge to actively support its LGBT members.
Speaking at The Global Travel Group conference in La Manga, Spain, commercial director Cherie Richards announced the Global Network of Women, which she said was designed to promote and support women in travel.
“One woman can make a difference, but together we can rule the world,” she told delegates.
Richards also unveiled plans for the consortium to actively support its LGBT members “and make sure our members are confident in selling same sex holidays”.
Speaking to TTG, group managing director Andy Stark stressed that the Global Network of Women would “not be a closed group”.
“Men will very much be welcome – I will be part of it too,” he said, adding that the group also “wanted to encourage support of LGBT members”, which Stark said was part of a larger drive to embrace diversity.
