The Tourism Society is looking for a new chief executive to replace Cheryl McCain.
McCain is leaving the professional membership organisation after her contract term expired and will be temporarily replaced by board member Mike Bugsgang, who will act as interim chief executive until a replacement is recruited.
Kevin Kaley, chairman of The Tourism Society, said: “We are grateful to Cheryl for her work over the past year in keeping the society’s strategy on track and we wish her well in her new role.
“The board is now planning for the future and is seeking an experienced, self-motivated individual to work as part-time chief executive to help the society deliver a new operational model.”
McCain is leaving the organisation to “pursue consultancy opportunities in the US and Europe”.
The society’s next major event will its annual dinner at the House of Lords on July 3.
