Passengers flying long-haul with Thomas Cook Airlines can bag two extra seats and turn them into a bed with the airline’s new “sleeper seat” add-on.
Starting from £200, passengers can now book an entire centre row at the rear of the aircraft, complete with mattress, fitted sheet, head rest, pillow and blanket.
They even come with an extra-long seatbelt extension to avoid passengers having to get up and strap themselves in in the event of turbulence.
Four sleeper seats will be available on Cook’s A330 aircraft across all its long-haul routes, excluding Cuba.
Sleeper seats must, however, be booked at least 48 hours in advance, so those passengers who rejoice when the cabin doors close and find themselves with two spare seats beside them to luxuriate in won’t be able to turn them into a sleeper seat.
Meanwhile, taller passengers dreaming of a bit more room might want to stick with an aisle seat if they want to stretch out, with Cook recommending sleeper seats for passengers no taller than 5ft 11in.
Henry Sunley, Thomas Cook Airlines commercial director, said: “We always look for ways to innovate for our customers, and [our] sleeper seats are a UK first we are really proud of.
"It is a fantastic way to transform your flying experience and enjoy some extra comfort when flying in economy.”
Sleeper seats are available to adult passengers and children aged 12 or over. Prices start from £200 one-way for flights departing May 13 onwards.
