Thomas Cook UK has appointed Alan Donald as financial director for its tour operating arm.
Donald will join from Saga Travel, where he held the same position, by the end of the summer and as part of his new role, will be responsible for the strategic leadership of Cook’s UK-based finance team.
Prior to Saga, Donald also held a senior role at Carlson Wagonlit Travel.
He takes over the UK finance director position from Paul Hemingway, who moves to focus on his role as group transformation director at Cook.
Ingo Burmester, Cook’s chief of the UK source market, said: “Alan’s experience in travel finance roles will be a great asset as we continue our transformation. I have no doubt Alan will fit seamlessly into our business.”
Donald added: “I’m delighted to join Thomas Cook at such an exciting time. Thomas Cook is one of the strongest brands in travel and it is clear there is a big opportunity to build on their position of strength in a growing market environment.”
