Travel Counsellors has unveiled a host of new product updates for its TCs, including new margin guides and the launch of an animal welfare policy.
The updates were announced during Travel Counsellors’ 25th anniversary annual conference in Manchester, taking place November 15-17.
With selling “premium luxury” a focus of the conference, head of purchasing and partnerships Louella Fisher revealed 80% of Travel Counsellors customers were already booking this type of travel, of which 70% is Travel Counsellors’ own product.
“There is more we can do though,” she said.
“Off-the-shelf holidays are not really the future – this year has shown us that.
“So what can you do if you’re already selling in this sweet spot? You need to know you’re pricing your holidays correctly.
“You are the best in the business – make sure you are valuing yourself as such.”
Fisher revealed Travel Counsellors had developed margin guides, which will arrive before Christmas.
She added that these, along with itineraries and destination guides, would be integrated into the company selling system, Phenix, and that the technology would be updated to enable TCs to search by supplier and destination.
Moreover, the system is going to start tagging “sustainable hotels” with a green leaf, with TC feedback on this topic collated and fed back to hotels.
“There will also be animal welfare product launching in the coming weeks,” Fisher added.
Chief executive Steve Byrne told TTG the company was fine-tuning its animal welfare policy.
