The Travel Network Group has hailed the "strong" response to the launch of its new “How To” events for members, the first of which will be held later this month.
Unveiled at the consortium’s Beyond the Expected conference in Budapest last month, the initiative will aim to bring its members closer to certain sectors throughout the travel industry and help them become more familiar with selling different types of holidays.
The first How To event will be held on 30 April in Birmingham and will focus on the UK short breaks market.
Chief operating officer Vim Vithaldas said: “British consumers on average take three to four holidays a year, with 26% of people in the UK taking a UK Short Break only, and 40% taking a UK short break and another holiday overseas.
“We believe there is more opportunity for agents to leverage a greater share of the market, and this event is intended to help them improve their knowledge of the sector and ultimately drive further sales.”
Hoseasons, Premier Holidays, Shearings and Super Break will all support the event.
The TNG is planning to host more How To events throughout 2019, covering ancillaries, touring, luxury and peaks.
