TripAdvisor has launched an airline reviews platform allowing consumers to make comparisons between flight options.
The airline reviews platform has been launched along with a redesigned flights search with its “flyscore” feature, which rates the quality of each air travel itinerary.
TripAdvisor said their review platform includes all major airlines globally, allowing consumers to make a decision based on the comparisons made between airlines.
The platform will be launched in 48 markets and 29 languages, and is expected to reach more than 340 million of the existing TripAdvisor users monthly.
It comes as a recent survey conducted by TripAdvisor showed that 37% of UK consumers believed airlines were making it more difficult to find the total cost of a flight. With 38% believing that information on inflight amenities was not always easily accessible.
Senior vice president and general manager of the global flights product, Bryan Saltzburg said that it is not always straightforward to find the best product by looking at the base line price.
He added: “Over the years, the in-flight experience has changed dramatically – in some ways for the better, in some ways for the worse.”
