TTG is proud to announce the return of Travel Pride, which will take place on 9 July, in Shoreditch, London.
Supported by Avis, Eurostar, Temptation Resort Cancun and Florida Keys & Key West, the free-to-attend party is an annual celebration of diversity in the travel industry, with everyone welcome – both LGBT and non-LGBT people.
The event will also see this year’s Travel Pride Champions revealed – a scheme recognising individuals in travel who are striving to improve the focus on diversity and inclusion in the sector.
Individuals can either nominate themselves or be nominated by others, and should explain in no more than 150 words why they deserve to be named a Travel Pride Champion. Their submission must detail the work they have done to improve the focus on diversity and inclusion (D&I) either within their own business or with their customers.
The changes they have driven don’t have to be huge – just starting the conversation on D&I within a business can be a significant step. Individuals from junior to middle management level are particularly urged to put themselves forward. Submissions must be made by 7 June.
Temptation has also launched a competition to celebrate its own Travel Pride event. Dania Hernandez, senior sales manager, Temptation Cancun Resort, said: “We are honoured to partner with TTG in its mission to encourage diversity and openness in travel.”
Travel Pride is part of TTG LGBT – an initiative supported by headline partner Celebrity Cruises and co-partners Hoseasons, The Travel Network Group, The Israel Government Tourist Office, Emerald Waterways, Thomas Cook Airlines, Funway Holidays and AM Resorts.
