Tui Group is expecting inflight sales to increase by 25% over the next five years following an agreement with a new supplier, writes Ella Braidwood
The group signed a 5-year contract with Gate Retail Onboard to be its sole supplier for inflight retail on all five airlines of the Tui Group.
The contract covers on-board sales of food and drinks, duty free products and pre-ordered duty free items from the UK and the Nordics.
The pre-order facility allows customers to order their on-board duty free items from home before having them delivered in flight.
A total of 13 million passengers use the group’s 140-aircraft fleet each year.
Managing director aviation Henrik Homann said: “The consolidation of the services will mean better in-flight services for our passengers, generate additional profits for the group and make Tui one of the largest inflight retailers in the industry, cementing our competitive position.”
