Two Britons among seven hurt in Paris knife attack

Police in the French capital said seven people were hurt after a man attacked “strangers in the street” with a knife and iron bar, the Guardian reports.

The man, believed to be an Afghan national, has been arrested.

The AFP news agency said local authorities do not believe the attack was “of a terrorist nature”.

Four of the seven people wounded are said to be in a critical condition.

According to Le Parisien newspaper, one of the British tourists was stabbed in the head while the other suffered a chest injury.
