Universal’s Volcano Bay will banish attraction queues and offer cashless transactions via wearable technology when it opens on May 25.
Guests at the Orlando theme park will be offered a TapuTapu wristband as part of the admission price, allowing them to ‘virtually’ wait in a queue for an attraction. The technology will also trigger special effects on rides throughout the park, such as shooting water cannons or illuminating images using TapTu Play prompts.
As well as removing the need for visitors to carry cash, TapuTapu also acts as a photo prompt around the park, with selfies and group shots available to purchase. The wristband also gives access to rented lockers.
TapuTapu can be set up in advance via Universal’s resort app or on the theme park’s website.
Universal is offering a three park Explorer Ticket with 14-days unlimited access to Volcano Bay, Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure for £242 per adult and £232 for children.
