Virgin Atlantic has added two new faces to its senior management team ahead of the departure of veteran chief executive Craig Kreeger in the New Year.
Juha Jarvinen has been named executive vice-president commercial and Ash Jokhoo senior vice-president technology. Jarvinen will take up his post in January and Jokhoo in February.
Their appointments come following that of Shai Weiss, Virgin Atlantic’s serving executive vice-president commercial and chief commercial officer, who will succeed Kreeger on January 1.
Jarvinen joins from Finnair and brings 20 years aviation experience. He will be responsible for Virgin Atlantic’s network, revenue and loyalty programme, and building the airline’s joint venture partnership with Delta Air Lines.
Jokhoo, meanwhile, joined from British Gas owner Centrica and will take the lead on the airline’s technology transformation, including a more personalised online service and improvements to the Virgin Atlantic mobile app, as well as better tech services at airports.
Virgin Atlantic’s serving senior vice-president technology Don Langford will leave the business along with Kreeger in the New Year.
“With these additions, we are ready to take Virgin Atlantic forwards in 2019 and beyond,” said Weiss. “Juha and Ash both bring deep industry knowledge and expertise in their specific fields, as well as a strong track record of amazing people leadership.
“I know they’ll bring the commitment and passion that makes Virgin Atlantic such a special airline for our customers to fly with and our people to work at.”
