An agency has begun a novel way of engaging with customers during lockdown with a series of virtual coffee mornings featuring partner operators.
Peakes Travel Elite held its first online session in partnership with Explore! and will offer its next on 21 January with RailBookers.
Claire Moore, the agency’s managing director, said: “I think we all need an escape from the dreariness of January and the humdrum of lockdown life, so we thought a positive and informative online chat might really help our customers, especially those who may be feeling isolated at home.
“Many of our customers can’t wait to get the go-ahead to hop on a plane to far-flung lands, so we hope to give them some great new ideas.
"We know that some are feeling a little cautious about travelling again, so we are here to talk through all of their concerns and queries, run through the new health travel protocols, and pass on our expertise and reassurance.”
Peakes has other sessions lined up next month, beginning on 4 February with Celebrity Cruises and on 18 February with Riviera Travel, exploring river cruise and touring holidays.
“We want customers to feel inspired to travel safely again,” said Moore, adding she was keen to hear from other operators wanting to take part.
