The vast majority of Jet2holidays’ customers who booked through a travel agent would do it again, according to new research from the tour operator.
A survey of 200 consumers found that 94% of Jet2 customers would rebook using an agency.
The main reasons for doing so were that it was easier (25%) they felt safer and more confident booking with an agent (15%) or because they got the best price (13%).
Even more encouraging was that 97% of travel agent customers rated their experience of bookings as being either “excellent” or “good”. The same number also rated the friendliness of their travel advisor as “excellent” or “good”.
Agents also scored high marks for their professionalism, knowledge and for providing good or excellent information.
An area where agents could improve is following up with customers after they have returned from their holidays, with 8% rating this as “poor” and 5% stating that it was “very poor”.
One respondent said that they used agents because they found it “easier to speak face-to-face and get shown a variety of packages with useful advice”.
Another comment said agents provided “more information, more security, more ability to negotiate a discount and more accountable if anything goes wrong”.
