World Travel Market London will be condensed into three days from 2016 onwards, the show has revealed.
WTM London 2016 will take place from November 7 to 9 next year, with opening hours extended from 10am until 7pm on all three days.
WTM’s senior exhibition director Simon Press said the decision had been taken after feedback from 2014 exhibitors showed for the first time a majority.
“They’ve spoken, we’ve listened, and we’ve come up with a new strategy,” he said. A record 51,500 exhibitors, buyers and other attendees took part in WTM 2014, and Press said he was confident a three-day event would continue to attract the same number of people.
“And because we’ve improved our pre-event appointment-making tools, people can now make better use than ever of the live event itself,” he added.
The show will take place on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, again in response to exhibitor feedback. Monday November 7 will remain an invite-only day, while WTM World Responsible Tourism Day will take place on Tuesday November 8.
The UNWTO/WTM Ministers’ Summit will be held on Wednesday November 9. The show will close with the Wednesday evening festivals that were introduced last year.
