Travel agent Sam Walton is to cycle from Milan to Venice to raise money for cancer charities, and is hoping the travel industry can help her to reach her fundraising target.
Sam, who works for Acomb Travel in York, will be taking on the Women v Cancer - Cycle Milan to Venice challenge in October 2019 alongside her friends Sarah Hyde and Gill Mallon.
“I saw this challenge on Facebook in June and shared it and asked if anyone wanted to join me. I knew I was going to do it regardless,” explained Sam. “What a challenge for my 50th year - Milan to Venice: 355 kilometres in three days.”
Sam, who has already raised £1,000 for Breast Cancer Care, Jo’s Trust Cervical Cancer Trust and Ovarian Cancer Action, needs to raise her target of £2,000 by the end of February to keep her place in the ride.
“Please help me support these extremely worthwhile charities which are very close to my own heart,” she added. “I will be accompanied on my ride with Sarah and Gill along with approximately 80 other riders.”
