P&O Cruises has promoted Rosy Sims to the position of director of trade engagement and onboard sales.
Sims, formerly senior business manager, sales strategy, had taken up the position’s responsibilities following the departure of Shane Riley to Virgin Voyages last month.
Now in the role permanently, Sims will be focused on driving trade sales around P&O’s upcoming 5,200-passenger ship launching in May 2020, as well as continuing to grow agent engagement for the line’s Shine Rewards Club incentive programme rolled out last November.
Sims led the project to design the strategy, deliver and launch Shine Rewards Club and is one of the founders of Athena, the recently founded employee-led group to champion diversity and inclusion across Carnival UK’s Southampton-based brands.
Alex Delamere-White, P&O Cruises vice-president sales and distribution said: “I am delighted that we have been able to promote internally and thereby help and invest in Rosy’s career development. Having held a number of positions within our brands, including working onboard, she has the knowledge and experience required for this role.
“With two new next-generation ships on order for P&O Cruises, which will have significant impact and penetration in the new to cruise market, I am confident that Rosy will work with agents to create mutual success.”
Prior to her promotion, Sims worked within P&O for ten years and has also held a number of other cruise roles such as contact centre manager for Holland America Line and Seabourn as well as onboard sales manager.
