Wizz Air is launching its first UK base at Luton airport on June 18 with one new Airbus A320 aircraft.
The base is the 28th the airline has opened and comes following 12 years of operating flights out of the airport.
The airline is the second biggest operating from Luton and the new base will see the number of routes served grow to 42.
The three new services being introduced in conjunction with the base are to Tel Aviv, Kosovan capital Prishtina and Kutaisi in Georgia. Frequencies on three other eastern European routes will also increase.
The changes mean there will be 6.3 million seats on sale through the airport, representing a growth of 13%.
Wizz Air chief executive Jozsef Varadi said: “Today’s announcement once again underlines Wizz Air’s commitment to the UK.
“Our first Wizz Air flight from the UK took off from London Luton in 2004 and since then, we have carried over 35 million passengers on our low-fare UK routes.
“Wizz is bringing direct connections and the lowest-fare opportunities to our customers in the UK to explore everything that the central eastern European region has to offer, whether visiting their friends and family, taking city breaks, exploring undiscovered countryside or sophisticated sea and ski resorts.”
