Scenic announced on Friday (16 June) that bookings were up 22% while inbound calls grew 10% following the release of the series’ first episode.
“We are thrilled to see the incredible knock-on effect from the first episodes of Maritime Masters converting into sales for our trade partners,” said director of trade sales Andrea Stafford.
Launched on 4 June on Discovery+, Maritime Masters details Scenic Eclipse’s expedition from San Diego to Antarctica, showing life onboard for both guests and crew.
To help agents capitalise on the renewed interest for expedition cruising, Scenic has launched a series of toolkits, including a recorded webinar as well as the possibility to win a cruise to Antarctica for two people next year.
“We will continue to support agents so that they are best equipped to understand Scenic Eclipse’s ultra-luxury offering and sell our product, and we look forward to a new episode with the Masters this Sunday,” Stafford added.
The news comes as Scenic announced earlier this week its new UK senior leadership team. The cruise line appointed on Wednesday (14 June) Nichola Absalom as sales and marketing director while Ian Wentworth has taken on the role of general manager UK.
The new appointments follow the departure of UK and Ireland managing director Richard Twynam, who left abruptly in late April after only six months in the job.
