TTG is urging the industry to once again get behind the #SaveTravel Twitterstorm today (Thursday 22 October), this time directed at prime minister Boris Johnson.
After a fantastic response to two previous Twitterstorms, directed at transport secretary Grant Shapps and Chancellor Rishi Sunak respectively, we want the sector to unite once again, to drive home the message that the industry needs urgent sector-specific support - this time to the prime minister himself.
Jennifer Morris, TTG news editor, said: “We have seen tens of thousands of tweets supporting this cause and it’s been incredible to see the industry coming together in this way.
“But we are yet to receive acknowledgement from Shapps or Sunak, and our #SaveTravel letter remains unanswered more than a month on.
“Please join us in getting the #SaveTravel message trending again nationwide.
“TTG is determined to not let the government forget this!”

In August you told us to “get back to work” @BorisJohnson, but with 90K jobs in outbound travel already lost/at risk, there are increasingly few jobs to go back to. Will your travel taskforce start affordable airport testing urgently to #SaveTravel? #SaveFutureTravel #Test4Travel
