Dear Evan Hansen has been causing a stir on Broadway since it opened in 2016, and is now set to transfer to London’s Noel Coward Theatre

The feel-good singalong: Fame the Musical

Thirty years on from the original Miami theatre production of Fame the Musical, the hit show is stopping in London’s West End for a limited run at the Peacock Theatre from 11 September to 19 October. Based on the hugely popular 80s film, directed by Allan Parker, the show follows the lives of students at New York’s High School for The Performing Arts as they go through the highs, lows and romances of life, singing and dancing their hearts out along the way. The show stars actor and singer Keith Jack as Nick, songstress Mica Paris as Miss Sherman and Hollyoaks star Jorgie Porter as Iris, as well as a super-slick troupe of singers and dancers. Tell clients that it is time to get their leg warmers and leotards at the ready…

The children’s classic: Mary Poppins

Everyone’s favourite nanny is returning to the Prince Edward Theatre this October, 15 years after the show made its London theatre debut there. The multi-award winning musical is produced by Disney Theatrical and Cameron Mackintosh, and will feature Zizi Strallen as Mary Poppins and Charlie Stemp as her chimney-sweeping beau, Bert. It has also been announced that Petula Clark, singer of 60s hit Downtown, will be joining the London cast as the bird woman. Clients can expect some dazzling special effects, impressive choreography and very catchy tunes in this firm family favourite. The show runs from 23 October 2019 to 29 March 2020.

Book it: Prices start from £93pp based on a one-night B&B stay at the President hotel for two, and a ticket to the show on 4 November.

The tear-jerker: Dear Evan Hansen

This multiple Tony-Award winning musical has been causing a stir on Broadway since it opened in 2016, and is now set to transfer to London’s Noel Coward Theatre from 19 November. The touching story tells the tale of Evan, a lonely teenage boy who finds it hard to fit in but desperately wants to. When tragedy hits, he finds himself drawn closer to a group of people for the first time. This show will appeal to adults rather than young children, since it deals with themes of loneliness, bullying and depression. The sensitive subject matter is expertly dealt with, however, and countless critics have dubbed the musical unique and inspiring. Music and lyrics are penned by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, who also created the scores for box office winners La La Land and The Greatest Showman.

Book it: Tickets for Dear Evan Hansen range from £32-£160.
