The Travel Network Group is to hold a series of open days to attract new members.
The first event will take place at the group’s Woking headquarters on January 26 and focus on joining the Travel Trust Association (TTA).
More than 200 invitations have been sent to potential new members to attend the event, which will be led by the consortium’s senior leadership team of Gary Lewis, chief executive, Lisa Henning, group membership services director, Si Morris-Green, group marketing director and Vim Vithaldas, group finance and commercial director.
A similar event for The Travel Network Group’s Independent Travel Experts brand will be held in February in London.
The consortium said the sessions will carry the theme ‘Journey to Success’ and look to engage both new entrants to the independent travel sector and established businesses wanting to know more about the group’s membership benefits.
Henning, who is responsible for member recruitment, said: “TTA is and has been historically one of the UK’s most popular brands for new travel entrepreneurs and we continue to work hard to make sure that we attract a number of new TTA members each year. In 2017, we welcomed more than 287 new members to the group overall.
“Our open days are a new initiative that we will use to share our passion, expertise, skills and knowledge with those looking to enter the market or those looking for an alternative travel partner to the one they are currently working with. Initial feedback from those we have spoken to has been really encouraging and we hope to have a full house.
“We have a responsibility as an industry to ensure growth in our sector and these events will ensure we get the support right from the start of the new member journey.”
