Virgin Voyages has appointed two new agent sales managers, tripling its UK-based sales crew in size.
Sarah-Jane Walker will join on March 21 from Princess Cruises, where she was sales manager. She will lead Virgin Voyages’ sales efforts in the northern region of the UK.
Gemma Smith will join on February 8, leading first mate (agent) relationships for the southern region. She moves from Virgin Holidays where she held a number of roles and most recently has been driving the development of Virgin Holidays’ Next partnership.
Virgin Voyages said it received more than 200 applicants for the roles.
Shane Riley, director of global sales for Virgin Voyages, said: "We set out to find sales rock stars who can challenge industry norms and provide exceptional support for our first mates, and I think it’s fair to say we have ticked every box with Sarah-Jane and Gemma.
“Their proven track record of success and enchanting personalities made them the perfect fit for us and I cannot wait to welcome them to the Virgin Voyages crew.”
The new sales manager roles will support agents in the beginning stages of the booking season for Virgin Voyages’ 2020 inaugural season, which will open on February 14.
The line is due to reveal further elements of its onboard experience and more details on how the company will be working with agents ahead of bookings opening.
All agents registered to do business with Virgin Voyages before February 14 will have the opportunity to enter to win tea with Sir Richard Branson (they must opt-in to sweepstakes by 11.59pm on February 13).
