A travel agent can break the sound barrier and zoom at 80,000ft onboard a MiG-29 fighter jet to the edge of space as part of the “most adventurous trade incentive ever”.
Norwegian Cruise Line will reward the “once in a lifetime” prize to the brink of Earth’s atmosphere to a travel consultant who makes 499 bookings of its airfare offer running through January.
The deal upgrades a cruise-only booking to fly-cruise to more than 25 European destinations for £99.
Nick Wilkinson, vice-president and managing director UK and Ireland told TTG: “This is the ultimate prize and certainly not a gimmick – someone is going to win this.
“There is always a lot of noise around giving away a car or a holiday so we wanted to go further and offer something that’s never been done.
“The team have come up with this amazing idea and it’s certainly the craziest and most jaw-dropping prize an agent can win.”
Wilkinson said that among its elements, the trip would include return flights from the UK to Russia, where the winner would take off from the Sormovo airfield on the outskirts of Nizhny Novgorod, as well as visas and a pre-flight medical observation.
As part of the campaign, agents who secure ten bookings will win an iFly indoor skydive and three-course meal for two, while those who make five sales will earn a Time Together giftbox featuring a helicopter tour with champagne.
