B Corp certification means meeting rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability. It's a significant achievement in its own right, but the timing makes it even more special as it comes in the company's 10th anniversary year.
For a decade, The Adventure Connection has connected UK tour operators with carefully selected destination management companies, tourist boards, properties and suppliers around the world.
Fam Trips have always been at the heart of that work. What's changed is that local impact is now considered before tours are planned.
Rather than treating sustainability as something to check at the end of product development, The Adventure Connection now builds it into the earliest planning stages of a Fam Trip, influencing which places are visited, which partners are used and how itineraries are developed.
The result is a growing bank of Fam Trip Impact Reports: evidenced accounts of positive impact in action, giving tour operators a credible foundation to build on from day one.
"Becoming a Certified B Corporation is something we're incredibly proud of," said Mark Wright, Founder of The Adventure Connection. "But the certification isn't really the story. The story is what we've been doing quietly for years: building responsible practice into the earliest conversations we have with our industry colleagues and partners, long before a client ever sees an itinerary.
"B Corp status simply confirms, independently, that the way we've always believed business should be done - responsibly, transparently and with a long-term commitment to doing good - actually holds up to scrutiny. This is a brilliant milestone, and also very much the start of the next chapter."
The Adventure Connection will celebrate both milestones at its annual WTM Networking Event, bringing together tour operators, destinations, DMCs, airlines and other industry professionals to celebrate a decade of meaningful connections while looking ahead to what responsible travel demands next.
